Golden River is a world leader in the field of automated traffic data collection and their proprietary hardware can be found on most major trunk roads and motorways. In excess of 20,000 Marksman traffic monitoring systems are in service around the world. ‘Real Time’ traffic data is key to combating congestion across the road networks. Golden River has over 2000 ‘Real Time’ monitoring stations in the UK alone accurately recording over 55 Million vehicle movements everyday which is equivalent to monitoring over 600 vehicle movements per second!
We also develop hardware that is at the heart of motorway incident detection systems such as the MIDAS system on the M25. Golden River’s equipment delivers the most accurate, reliable data, quickly, efficiently and cost effectively as possible in all traffic conditions.
Golden River has been involved in traffic monitoring products for over 30 years (since 1974) when the MK2 Marksman traffic classifiers were developed. The company has continued to grow steadily, supplying traffic counters and classifiers to UK local authorities and overseas distributors. In 1981, the company introduced the world’s first microprocessor-based, loop-detector and traffic classifier. Golden River has continued to set the industry standard for traffic monitoring products ever since.
Over half of our 50 staff are qualified engineers and typically have ten or more years experience in this highly technical business. The company operates from a headquarters in Bicester, Oxfordshire, UK near junction 9 of the M40 where we design, develop and supply chain manage our products and equipment.
